Medicals that get signed off first time

Most occupational health delays happen for the same reason: the wrong assessment is booked, or the paperwork comes back incomplete and the whole thing starts again.

Tell us what the assessor actually requires and we will complete that. If you are unsure, send us the form or the job specification and we will work out what is needed before you book. We are happy to speak to your employer or insurer directly.

Bloods, ECG, spirometry, audiometry and vision testing are done at the clinic, so most assessments finish in one appointment rather than three.

Questions

Common questions

How much is a D4 medical?

£135 including the eye test, with no consultation fee on top. Bring photo identification and your D4 form if the DVLA has sent you one.

Do I need a separate optician appointment?

No. The eyesight assessment is carried out here as part of the medical.

Do you cover the whole of London?

Yes. Staff can attend our Nine Elms clinic, we can run an assessment day at your workplace anywhere in London, or we can visit at home where that is more practical.

Do you come to our workplace?

Yes. On-site assessment days are usually the most economical option once you are assessing more than a few people, and staff lose far less time.

How quickly can we get someone seen?

Same-day appointments are usually available at the clinic, including Saturday mornings. On-site days are arranged to suit your schedule.

What is chain of custody drug testing?

A documented process tracking the sample from collection to result, so the result can be relied on in employment decisions or disputes. Urine screening with chain of custody is £117.

Do you provide the report, or just the examination?

Both. Insurance medicals, fitness for work assessments and absence reviews all come with a written report.

Can any of this be done by video?

Assessments requiring physical examination or testing must be in person. Some absence and fitness-for-work reviews can be done by video, so ask us.
